about
The title of the song, "In Praise of Shadows" is borrowed from an essay on Japanese aesthetics by the Japanese author and novelist Junichiro Tanizaki.
Tanizaki discusses the sense of beauty when there was no electric light, the integration of life and nature, and the artistic sensibility of the Japanese who truly knew the essence of elegance.
The sensibility of us living in modern Japan must have changed greatly from that of those days, but we sometimes feel fragments of something like the spirit of elegance remain deep within us.
We would like to find the feeling in our daily life, instead of looking back on the good old times.
